· Engineering $6,000.00 <br />· Contingency/misc. supplies $ $795.07 <br /> Total $60,000.00 <br /> <br />Park/Utilities Supervisor Boos noted that staff would like to receive quotes for irrigation this <br />year as well and if the Council chooses to move forward with irrigation the seeding proposal for <br />wild flowers will not be acted on. <br /> <br />Councilmember Zimmerman inquired the cost of irrigating the site. <br /> <br />Parks/Utilities Supervisor Boos replied that they would be looking at a minimum cost of $10,000 <br />with a maximum cost of $20,000. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec stated that if they are going to keep the site looking nice they are going to need <br />irrigation. <br /> <br />Councihnember Anderson inquired if the City is permitted to take bids for individual projects. <br /> <br />Parks/Utilities Supervisor Boos replied that he specifically requested that they be itemized. <br /> <br />Councilmember Anderson inquired if there would be other areas in that vicinity of the park that <br />will soon need in'igation. <br /> <br />Parks/Utilities Supervisor Boos replied that the boulevards and areas around the tennis courts are <br />currently not irrigated and could be. <br /> <br />Councilmember Kurak inquired if the landscaping will survive through the summer without <br />irrigation. <br /> <br />Parks/Utilities Supervisor Boos replied that staff will water the site with the water truck. <br /> <br />Motion by Mayor Gamec, seconded by Councilmember Zimmerman, to recommend that the City <br />Council authorize $60,000 in Lawful Gambling Improvement Funds to construct the Central <br />Park Entrance Project as proposed, eliminating the wildflower seeding until the in-igation issue is <br />resolved. <br /> <br />Further disct~ssion: Councilmember Zimmerman inquired if staff will be bringing back quotes <br />for irrigation. Parks/Utilities Supervisor Boos replied yes. Councilmember Zimmerman <br />inquired if staff had verified with the City Attorney that they have not violated any bidding laws. <br />Parks/Utilities Supervisor Boos replied that he was confident they followed the bidding laws, but <br />could still have the City Attorney review the information. <br /> <br />Motion carried.
