council consideration on April 28.

Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Reimann, Councilmembers Sorteberg, Cox,
DeLuca and Pearson. Voting No: None.

Wayne Boutain - 7351 150th Lane - Stated that his brother is the boy that
was killed on Cry. Rd. ~56 this week and he is concerned with what can be
done to control traffic on that road between now and when the investigtion
is completed. Ramsey officers admit that traffic on that road travels from
50 to 68 mph and yet you only see officers patrolling that road once or
twice a week; the officers say they have other business to attend to.
Wayne inquired as to what can be done to get more officers patrolling that
road so that word gets out that there is a speed limit that is being
enforced.

Motion by Councilmember Cox and seconded by Councilmember Pearson directing
the Ramsey Police Department establish radar checks on Cry. Rd. #56.

Further Discussion: Councilmember DeLuca inquired as to a time period for
the radar chocks on Cty. Rd. #56. Councilmember Cox stated that the
officers should monitor that road until such time that they determine users
of the road realize the speed limit is being enforced.

Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Reimann, Councilmembers Sorteberg, Cox,
DeLuca and Pearson, Voting No: None.

Resident - 149th Lane - Stated that the traffic makes it very difficult
to cross the street and walk to Tom Thumb. Noted that she moved here from
a City that had two serious accidents in a short span of time because the
city chose not to do anything after the first accident.

Mayor Reimann suggested that the concerned residents also contact County
Commissioner Haas.

Brie Herbert - Requested that names and addresses of elected officials be
published in the newsletter.

Mr. Hartley replied that those names are published.

Ernie Larson - Stated that his name has not been in the Resident since he
took office in January.

Ms. Frolik stated that she prints the 'elected officials' column as space
permits.

Mike Terry - 7481 149th Lane - Stated that 50 cars/hour travel his block at
a speed of 40 mph; he contacted the police department and they said they
don't monitor that area because there is not a inconspicuous place to
situate a squad car. Mr. Terry inquired as to the proper procedure for
getting stop signs installed in a residential neighborhood. The careless
drivers seom to be coming from the neighborhood northwest of Pine View
Estates. The residents want and are willing to pay for stop signs at every
corner in the neighborhood.

Council directed that Police Chief Auspos should respond to Michael Terry's
comments.

Special City Council/April 14, 1987
