Motion by Councilmember Cox and seconded by Councilmember Pearson <br />authorizing City Staff to advertise for the following: <br /> <br />Central Park- <br /> <br />2 hockey rinks <br />additional athletic field <br />expansion of parking area <br />lighting for hockey rinks <br />goal posts for athletic field <br /> <br />Titterud Park - <br /> <br />lights for tennis courts <br /> <br />Further, that no work shall commence on any of the above improvements until <br />after a plan for Central Park layout and building improvements has been <br />reviewed'by City Council. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Reimann, Councilmembers Sorteberg, Cox, <br />DeLuca and Pearson. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Councilmember Cox noted that there is a need for goal posts at River's Bend <br />Park. <br /> <br />Mr. Lichter recommended that City Staff be designated to coordinate weekend <br />reservations of Central Park athletic fields. Mr. Lichter suggested that a <br />$200 damage deposit and $100 rental fee be required. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Cox and seconded by Councilmember Sorteberg to <br />directing that City Staff coordinate weekend reservations for Central Park <br />athletic fields; that the City Attorney draw up an appropriate rental <br />agreement form to be used that will require a $200 damage deposit and $100 <br />rental fee. Further, that Federal Cartridge will be exempted from any <br />Central Park rental fees in lieu of their donation of the land. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Reimann, <br />Councilmembers Sorteberg, Cox, DeLuca and Pearson. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Request For Participation In Purchasi~ P%~y~rogn'd'E~uipment; <br /> Case Of Ramsey Elementary School: <br /> <br />Mr. Dave Bawden representing Ramsey Advisory Council was present and stated <br />that the playground equipment at Ramsey Elementary is aging and needs to be <br />replaced. The proposed new equipment amounts to $39,000. The School <br />District committed to $12,000; the students raised $10,000; the Lions <br />donated $5,000; Jaycee's volunteered the labor valued at $8~500. The City <br />of Ramsey is being requested to furnish the balance of funds needed for the <br />new equipment -- $13,000. <br /> <br />Councilmember Cox noted that Ramsey is paying into the school district but <br />only receives an amount back commensurate with having only one school, <br />unlike other communities similar in size but having 3-4 schools.
