PROCEEDINGS OF CITY COUNCIL
CITY OF RAMSEY
ANOKA COUNTY
STATE OF MINNESOTA

The Ramsey City Council conducted a regular meeting on Tuesday, June 23,
1987 at the Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Blvd. N.W., Ramsey,
Minnesota.

Members Present:

Mayor Gary Reimann
Councilmember Arnie Cox
Councilmember A1 Sorteberg
Councilmember Steve DeLuca
Conncilmember A1 Pearson

Also Present:

City Administrator David Hartley
City Attorney William Goodrich
City Engineer Peter Raatikka
Community Development Director Anne Norris

CALL TO ORDER

Mayor Reimann called the regular Council meeting to order at 7:34 p.m. and
led in the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag.

CITIZEN INPUT

Birdie Rotramel - 8435 167th Lane N.W. - Stated that she had the
opportunity to be in City Hall 3 times during the past 6 weeks and the
manner in which the grounds were kept left something to be desired. The
grounds have now been mowed but there should be a regular maintenance
program for City Hall grounds as city hall is a community's badge. She attended the Community Picnic sponsored by the Lions
and it was a wonderful event.

Councilmember Cox stated that he has served in Ramsey for 15 years. He
read the article in the newspaper about the grounds at Ramsey City Hall
and he believes those articles discredit the people and the community.
Ramsey is a community operating with minimal funds; the city is aware of
tasks that are not being accomplished and is in the process of considering
contracting out those tasks rather than flooding the city with hired
employees. Bond issues may appear to be pallatable but some are not paying
their fair share because of inequities in bond issues in Minnesota.
tloweown~- -oe~ld--m et~-~f-f~ r~-gh.e--i~te r es~--om-- a- boad--i~ue if~~t~f-o ~

eo~cz~a~d~pmea, in t~~~. ~msey does not receive it s fair
share of local government aids and therefore tries to find more efficient
ways of getting jobs done.
