Stated that volunteers are <br />also needed to put up backstops at River's Bend Park. <br /> <br />Ms. Rotramel - Stated that maintenance of the grounds at City Hall would <br />make a good community service project for civic organizations. <br /> <br />Councilmember DeLuca extended his thanks to those individuals who volunteer <br />their time to work on city commissions and civic organizations and <br />activities. <br /> <br />Councilmember Cox stated that the article in the newspaper he referred to <br />earlier also stated concerns for the appearance of a city hall paid for <br />with tax dollars. Councilmember Cox stated that because of the efforts of <br />a few persons in 1973, Ramsey was one of two cities that were the first to <br />receive federal grant money with which to build their city halls. That <br />effort made it possible for the city to now be able to afford a fire <br />department and a building for people to write and criticize about. <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF AGENDA <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Cox and seconded by Councilmember Pearson to <br />approve the agenda with the following adjustments: <br /> <br />Remove Items 8, 11 and 15 from the Consent Agenda and the timing <br />for delivering council meeting agendas were placed under Mayor/ <br />Council Input for discussion. <br /> <br />2. Add Case #15.A - Discussion regarding easements relating to the <br /> extension of municipal sewer and water to the Industrial area. <br /> <br />Add Case #22 - Request for payment for easement relating to <br />Roanoke Street N.W. improvement project; case of Jerry and Kay <br />Rachel. <br /> <br />4. Add Case #23 - Review of gambling license application; case of <br /> Ramsey Lions. <br /> <br />Further Discussion: Councilmember Cox requested that a discussion <br />regarding expanding the civil defense warning system coverage be placed on <br />the next Council agenda. Councilmember Cox stated his displeasure with the <br />timing in which Council is receiving their meeting agendas. Staff was <br />directed to have meeting agendas to Council on Thursday preceeding the <br />meeting to allow sufficient time to review the cases and be prepared to <br />handle business. Council placed delivery of meeting agendas <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Reimann, Councilmembers Sorteberg, Cox, <br />DeLuca and Pearson.
