Mr. Hartley noted that the September 22 Council meeting will begin at 7:00 <br />p.m. rather than 7:30 p.m. in order to allow time to receive a presentation <br />from "Keep America Beautiful" representatives. <br /> <br />b) Report on LAWCON grant application - <br /> <br />Mr. Hartley noted that the Minnesota Department of Trade and Economic <br />Development ha~ indicated favorable reception of I~amsey's LAWCON grant <br />application for River's Bend Park. <br /> <br />c) Schedule closed executive session - <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember DeLuca and seconded by Councilmember Pearson to <br />schedule a Closed Executive Session for 7:00 p.m. on Tuesdady, September <br />15, 1987 to review possible contract proposals relating to the City's <br />position £n future contract negotiations with bargaining units. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Reimann, Councilmembers Sorteberg, Cox, <br />DeLuca and Pearson. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />d) Waiving of building permit fee for Lions Club construction - <br /> <br />Mr. Hartley stated that the Lions Club will be building a warming house at <br />Central park and the City Building Official is requesting a decision from <br />Council as to whether or not a building permit fee should be charged for <br />the structure. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Cox and seconded by Councilmember DeLuca to waive <br />the building permit fee for the construction of a warming house at Central <br />Park. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Reimann, Councilmembers Sorteberg, Cox, <br />DeLuca and Pearson. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />e) Schedule Budget Committee Meeting - <br /> <br />Mr. Hartley requested a meeting of the Budget Committee be scheduled for <br />6:15 p.m. on Monday, September 14, 1987; Council agreed. <br /> <br />Mr. Hartley stated 'that individuals interested in a Key Communicator <br />Program in Ramsey want to be present at the Budget Committee meeting. <br /> <br />Council consensus was that this initial meeting should be for the benefit <br />of the Budget Committee only and interested individuals can participate in <br />a subsequent meeting. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Cox and seconded by Councilmember DeLuca to adjourn <br />the special Council meeting. <br /> <br />City Council/September 8, 1987 <br /> <br />Page 9 of 10 <br /> <br /> <br />
