recycling and existing recycling programs and expansion of markets for <br />recyclables. <br /> <br />Councilmember Cox suggested that existing recycling centers be advertised <br />regularly in the Ramsey Resident Newsletter. <br /> <br />Motion by Conncilmember Cox and seconded by Councilmember Pearson directing <br />Councilmember DeLuca to work with the Landfill Commission on the County's <br />questionaire regarding priority ranking of low-tech abatement issues. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Reimann, Councilmembers Sorteberg, Cox, <br />DeLuca and Pearson. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Case #10: Appointment To Plannin~ And Zonin~ Commission: <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Cox and seconded by Councilmember Pearson to <br />appoint Mr. Michael Terry to serve on the Planning and Zoning Commission <br />for a term to expire December 31, 1987. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Reimann, Councilmembers Sorteberg, Cox, <br />DeLuca and Pearson. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Case #11: Request For Temporary 3.2 Beer License; Case Of Ramsey Lions <br /> Club: <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Sorteberg and seconded by Councilmember Cox to <br />approve the request by the Ramsey Lions Club for a temporary 3.2 beer <br />license on September 26 and 27, 1987. <br /> <br />Further Discussion: Councilmember Cox stated that he talked with City <br />Attorney Goodrich regarding charitable gambling licenses, specifically the <br />once City Council recently objected to that was approved by the State <br />Gambling Board. Mr. Goodrich stated that initially, city's can object to <br />the issuance of a charitable gambling license; he will research what a <br />city's are after the license has been issued. <br /> <br />Case #12: Council Action Regardin~ Their Proposal Made To And Ratified <br /> By The AFSCME Bargaining Unit: <br /> <br />Mr. Hartley presented Council with a summary of their latest offer to the <br />AFSCME unit and stated that the bargaining unit has voted to accept the <br />terms and establish a 2 year contract for 1987 and 1988. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember DeLuca and seconded by Councilmember Sorteberg to <br />ratify the agreement between the City of Ramsey and the APSCME bargaining <br />unit consistent with the terms provided to City Council this evening. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Reimann, Councilmembers Sorteberg, Cox, <br />DeLuca and Pearson.
