Voting No: None. <br /> <br />C~se #3: <br /> <br />Request For Proclomation Of October 11. 1987 As "Discover <br /> Ramsey Day" And Request For Funds For Advertising "Discover <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Cox and seconded by Councilmember Sorteberg to <br />proclaim October 11, 1987 at "Discover Ramsey Day" and authorize the <br />expenditure of a maximum of $2,000 towards advertising costs for "Discover <br />Ramsey" · <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Reimann, Councilmembers $orteberg, Cox, <br />DeLuca and Pearson. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Case #4: Ordinance Setting Council Salaries And Benefits: <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Cox and seconded by Councilmember Pearson to adopt <br />Ordinance #87-6 amending Chapter 10.08 of the Ramsey City Code and repeal <br />Ordinance #81-8. (Please refer to ordinance file for Ordinance #87-6). <br /> <br />Further Discussion: Mr. Hartley stated that the ordinance would become <br />effective January 1, 1989, increase the Mayor's salary to $6000/year, <br />councilmembers salary to $4500/year and insurance benefits to $170/month. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Reimann, Councilmembers Cox, DeLuca and <br />Pearson. Voting No: Councilmember Sorteberg. <br /> <br />Case #5: <br /> <br />Status Of Railroad Crossing At Weigh Station And Trucks On <br />153rd Avenue N.W.: <br /> <br />Mr. Hartley stated that MN/DoT has scheduled a tentative hearing date of <br />October 29 at 9:30 a.m. before an administrative law judge relating to the <br />establishment of the Dayton railroad crossing. The hearing process follows <br />much the same process as a court case. MN/DoT strongly urges that the city <br />be represented by an attorney and the outcome of the decision will be based <br />on preponderance of evidence. Following the hearing, the judge would reach <br />findings and recommendation. Those findings will be forwarded to the <br />Commissioner of Transportation and his decision will be based on those <br />findings and recommendation. Following that, the decision can be appealed <br />t o the Court of Appeals and Supreme Court . <br /> <br />Mr. Hartley stated that he also received notification via telephone that <br />Burlington Northern will be making improvements at the Armstrong Blvd. <br />crossing within the next two weeks; that construction will close the <br />crossing for one week. The conditional use permit the city has with North <br />Fork, Inc. requires the trucks to travel on a sufficiently constructed <br />road. North Fork has also received a bid on insurance for a temporary <br />City Council/September 22, 1987 <br /> <br />Page 7 of 18 <br /> <br /> <br />
