League of Conservation Voters Grant <br /> <br />Ms. Strommen stated that the League of Conservation Voters has funding available for <br />educational materials about preserving open space. Ms. Strommen said that she would call them <br />and see if Ramsey's tree booklet is a qualifying project. <br /> <br />b. Park Commission <br /> <br />Mr. Boos noted that the joint meeting between the EPTF, Park Commission and Planning <br />Commission has been scheduled for Thursday, March 20, 2003. <br /> <br />c. Draft Tree Ordinance <br /> <br />Mr. McDilda distributed copies of the first draft of the tree preservation ordinance. <br /> <br />Motion by Committee Member Dvorak and seconded by Committee Member Max for the <br />following actions: (a) place "Review Of The Draft Tree Preservation Ordinance" on the <br />February 3, 2002, Task Force meeting agenda; (b) all task force members, City staff and Park <br />Commission liaisons should review the ordinance draft and be prepared to submit suggestions <br />for amendments at the February 3 meeting of the Task Force; (c) Mr. Max should complete the <br />canopy cover formula and present it at the February 3 meeting for insertion into the draft <br />ordinance. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Status of Tree List and Educational Booklet <br /> <br />Mr. Max stated that he and Sue Dvorak, Erika Sitz and Margaret Connolly will be assembling <br />the tree list and educational booklet. The tree list will include a list of preferred species, <br />acceptable species and unacceptable species. It will also include some suggestions for fruit and <br />nut trees. The booklet will resemble the Recyclopedia that the City distributes. <br /> <br />e. Status of Canopy Cover Formula <br /> <br />Mr. Max stated that on January 17, he will be meeting with Community Development Assistant <br />Chris Anderson to work on a formula for basing required plantings in new development based on <br />canopy cover versus stem count. <br /> <br /> <br />
