Commissioner Ostrum stated if the trail became part of the Regional Funding Source, wouldn't
they be more restrictive on how the trail would be.

Mr. Boos stated they would to a point.

Mr. Jones went over "Exhibit C" of the proposed schedule with the Commission and Council.
He discussed the planning and design of the Trail system with the Commission and Council. He
stated they would be discussing what the existing design would be.

Mr. Boos stated they might have a design quandary that would show three alternatives. They
would work through the draft and begin to resolve them and some would not be resolved. He
stated they would discuss ideas as they occurred and had a greenway application. He stated he
believed they would be successful for the greenway grant. The $17,500 from the DNR would be
used exclusively for inventorying natural resources. He stated they would have software (GIS)
that would be shared between the departments.

Mr. Jones stated the aerial map and other maps are GIS maps.

Mr. Boos stated that things were coming together and everyone was sharing more with each other
[GIS]. Mr. Boos stated they should schedule the meetings on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and
Thursdays.

Councilmember Hendriksen stated that for the record he would like the meeting updates to get
put on the Council update.

Mr. Boos asked what level of reporting did the Council and Commission want.

Mayor Gamec stated he would like the information to be as consolidated as possible. He stated
he would like the report to should just the concerns. He stated they could have minutes done but
the Council would just like the question brought up and then the answer. He wanted just the
highlights and points of the meetings.

Mr. Korby stated they could graphically show them the information.

Commissioner Shryock stated the when concerns were expressed, could they get a percentage of
concerns.

Mr. Boos stated they could prepare them in an executive summary style.

Councilmember Zimmerman stated he would like to see in the Council update the percentages.

Mayor Gamec stated he would like to know the numbers instead of "a few people" or "a lot" per
zone because "a few people" could mean anywhere from 2 to 100.

Commissioner Olds stated he would like to see how many people from each zone were at each
meeting.

Park and Recreation Commission/June 13, 2002
Page 4 of 9
