Ongoing Conce/ns <br /> <br />Is a Decla~ation of Emergency appropriate? <br /> <br />As the EOC begins functioning, verify that each of the following areas have been staffed and the <br />action plan,s are being prepared. <br />- Security and traffic control for the area affected, and maintenance of Police service to parts <br /> of the Community not affected by the event. <br /> Fire Suppression, rescue and EMS to the affected area, and maintenance of these services to <br /> parts o.,f the community not affected by the event. <br />- Public information. Has the PIO been notified? Is there information that must be distributed <br /> immediately? <br />- Congregate/Mass care. Has the Red Cross been notified? Are there adequate shelter areas <br /> assi/:,med? <br />- Damage Assessment. Are plans being made for preliminary damage assessment of the <br /> affected areas? Is someone updating the information as it comes in? <br />- Debris Clearance. Has public works been notified? Resource needs/requests? <br /> <br />[] Are response recovery operations going to continue over an extended period of time? Do we <br /> need to plan for 24 hour operations and shift changes? <br /> <br />Are Department Heads functioning appropriately? Do they need assistance? <br /> <br />Are more Outside resources going to be needed to maintain control of the situation or complete <br />recovery operations? Request Sheriff to contact the State Duty Officer, if it appears likely that <br />National GUard assistance will be requested. <br /> <br />Are extraordinary regulations needed (e.g., curfew, resource rationing) to maintain order? <br /> <br />Is an evacuation order appropriate? Is a statement needed to inform people that do not comply <br />with the evacuation order that services may be discontinued or interrupted in the evacuation <br />area? <br /> <br />36 <br /> <br /> <br />
