4) Ordinance Review

Councilmember Cook requested that staff research if there is anything in City ordinance
pertaining to wet t-shirt contests or mud wrestling and report back to the Council with the
information.

Assistant City Administrator Nelson replied that staff would review the ordinance.

5) 2:00 a.m. Bar Closing Time

Councihnember Elvig stated that he had received a call from Mr. Gruber from Diamonds Sports
Bar questioning if the Coullcil had discussed the 2:00 bar closing time any further. After talking
with Mr. Gruber he was informed that Albertville, and Blaine had passed the 2:00 a.m. bar
closing time, but Anoka, Coon Rapids and Elk River have not.

Mayor Gamec noted that he contacted the City of Andover and they indicated that the Council is
not illterested in making the change.

Councilmember Elvig explained that staff provided him with a copy of the ordinance pertaining
to bar closing rime and the City's ordinance states that they must stop serving alcohol at 1:00
a.m. and all drinks have to be picked-up by 1:30 a.m., but they can actually stay open until
anytime.

Councilmember Cook replied that the biggest problem is enforcing that.

Consensus of the City Council was to keep the ordinance as is and direct staff to inform Mr.
Gruber as to what is stated in the current ordinance.

COUNCIL/STAFF INPUT

There was nolle.

ADJOURNMENT

Motion by Councilmember Elvig, seconded by Councilmember Cook, to adjourn the meeting.

Mot/on carried.

The City Council Work Session of the City Council adjourned at 8:54 p.m.

City Council Work Session/December 1, 2003
Page 6 of 7
