reasons cited above, nearly ail-surrounding communities City Hall office hours are 8:00 a.m. to <br />4:30 p.m. Given the availability of fax, e-mail, and intemet, there are numerous ways for <br />residents to access government information without visiting City Hall during office hours. City <br />staff would certainly continue to be flexible in meeting the needs of residents, developers, and <br />contractors if they needed to meet with staff outside of regular office hours. Staff has searched <br />minutes and other City documents regarding when the current office hours were established, <br />however staff has not been able to find any evidence of a Council action or discussion of the <br />issue. Members of staff who have been employed by the City since the late 80's recall that these <br />office hours may have been established during the early 90's. With Council approval, staff <br />would propose~ to make the change effective January 26, 2004. Staff would provide information <br />via the website, QCTV, postings at City Hall, and voice mail regarding the change in office <br />hours. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec noted that staff has researched the closing times of other cities and most close at <br />4:30 p.m. <br /> <br />Councilmember Cook inquired if there was any consideration given to changing the office hours <br />8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. <br /> <br />Community Development Director Frolik replied that that would be a problem in the building <br />department. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec noted that the busiest time at City Hall is in the morning. The last hour is <br />typically very quiet. <br /> <br />Councihnember Elvig stated that he wanted it noted that City staff works a lot of hours <br />regardless of what the actual office hours. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec recommended that the change be made effective February 1, 2004. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Elvig, seconded by Councilmember Kurak, to adopt Resolution #04- <br />01-009 changing City Hall office hours to 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, and Councilmembers Elvig, Kurak, Cook, Pearson, <br />and Strommen. Voting No: None. Absent: CouncilmemberZimmerman. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec recessed the regular City Council meeting at 8:49 p.m. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec called the regular meeting of the City Council back to order at 9:03 p.m. <br /> <br />Case #6: <br /> <br />Amendment of Development Agreement for Evergreen Point Townhomes <br />Second Addition <br /> <br />Assistant Director of Public Works Olson stated that an issue has arisen regarding Evergreen <br />Point Townhomes Second Addition ("Evergreen"). The development agreement for this plat <br />requires the developer to construct a temporary cul-de-sac at the westerly terminus of 154th Lane <br />within the Plat, :pending installation of 154th Lane within the adjacent Sunflower Ridge plat.
