Sid Brennan - Attorney retained by STERN Committee - I have had a chance to review a very limited amount of material. Apparenty, the city has selected Hakanson-Anderson as the consulting engineering firm and Hakanson-Anderson has selected Joe Grabowski of Wenck Associates to prepare a report. Mr. Grabowski indicated in his report that there are health and air emission issues that need addressing. It is imperative that the city follow the directives of the experts they have chosen to guide them. Apparently, there are many people that don't want Atlas in Ramsey. The experts feel more information is needed. The environmental assessment worksheet is prepared by Atlas and gone over by MPCA to make sure it meets their criteria. The environmental assessment worksheet has not been prepared yet and to grant a conditional use permit without all the facts would be foolishness. The city, at a minimum, should delay a decision until the EAW is complete. Mr. Grabowski expressed concern that there should be an analysis performed prior to trial burns. The city and MPCA will be relying on data supplied by Atlas; it would be in the city's best interest to have some more detailed analysis and testing done on their own. A~_an Schramm - 6051 160th Lane - Spending money to improve parks to attract more residents to Ramsey would be hypocritical if the City grants a permit to Atlas to operate in Ramsey. The citizens have been opposing the dump for many years; how many more meetings do the citizens have to attend before City Council realizes that the residents don't want any more facilities like this in our city? Liliana Heinen - 6370 143rd - I am a proud member of STERN. I am not ashamed of Ramsey, it is beautiful; but, I am ashamed of the condition of Ramsey. I have a couple more questions to ask: 1) Are you aware that according to ACBAN, the Northern Suburban area, especially Ramsey, has become the object of many welcome, new industries and manufacturing facilities for wanting to settle here their corporate headquarters and industrial complexes. 2) Are you aware that toxic and pollution test results, as stated by U of M Health Department, will not be ready until 40 years f~om now? 3) Are you aware that according to authorities in toxicology, such as the very eminent Dr. Robert Krieger, Health Department of the U of M, this area, if such an incinerator facility will ever take place, will be subject to lethal and mortal effects in just a few years? 4) In everyone's just opinion and common sense, how can other such businesses be attracted to an area that will show a very low rate in the devaluation and defacing of this community? Robert Burger - 7111 159th - I did not come here intending to speak. I have lived in Ramsey 10 years and I am tired of the dump, airport and the Atlas proposal. We did not move to Ramsey to become the land of hazardous waste. I am proud of Ramsey and I don't want it to be known as the town where all the hazardous waste is. Scott Dickinson - 14160 Junkite Street - For 6 years my wife and I fought infertility; last month we found out we are going to have a child.
