Mr. Jim Gilbertson - 17930 Ermine Blvd. N.W. - stated that he feels that all <br />businesses should comply with the same law's as the liquor store's have to, <br />such as fire inspection. <br /> <br />Mayor Reimann stated that he called this meeting because Mr. Gilberson said <br />that he had some other information he felt the Council should hear relating to <br />the Arrigoni, Inc. gambling license request. <br /> <br />Mr. Gilbertson stated that he does not want to have the Jacyee's or the Lion's <br />to run the gambling operation at his saloon and that he was going to sue the <br />City of Ramsey. <br /> <br />Mr. Wes Alden was present representing Arrigoni, Inc. and stated that if <br />Arrigoni wants to fight it they will. He also said that he feels that the <br />local businessmen should be able to pick the kind of charity he wants. <br /> <br />Mr. Gilbertson stated that he does not want the Jaycee's because they do not <br />clean up after themselves and he does not want the Lion's because they either <br />sit in the kitchen or at the bar and don't do their work. He also stated that <br />the Council was trying to tell him who he could and couldn't have in his <br />Saloon. <br /> <br />Mayor Reimann stated that the City. is not trying to tell businessmen which <br />organizations they can have in their establishments. The City is trying to <br />maintain a policy of using fundings from charitable gambling operations to <br />benefit Ramsey. <br /> <br />Councilmember DeLuca requested that the Council review it's recommendation at a <br />later date as the Council does not have legal assistance at this time. <br /> <br />Case ~2 Terry Hendrikson to discuss the problem of drainage on his property <br /> and surroundinE areas. <br /> <br />Mr. Terry Hendrikson - 15631 Ramsey Blvd. N.W. - stated that he has a severe <br />drainage problem and that the City hasn't done anything to fix it. He stated <br />that the City Engineer Peter Raatikka is aware of this. <br /> <br />Mayor Reimanu suggested that Peter Raatikka address this on the August 9th <br />meeting. <br /> <br />Case #3 Resignation of CQuncilmember Arnie Cox. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember DeLuca and seconded by Councilmember Pearson to adopt <br />Resolution #88-1~O acccepting the resignation of Arnie Cox and declares a <br />vacancy to exists on the City Council. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Reimann, Councilmembers Sorteberg, DeLuca <br />and Pearson. Voting No: None. Absent: Councilmember Cox. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember DeLuca and seconded by Councilmember Pearson to <br />advertise to fill the vacancy on the City Council and to review and appoint a <br />replacement on August 23, 1988. <br /> <br />City Council/August 3, 1988 <br /> <br />Page 2 of 3 <br /> <br /> <br />
