Voting No: None. <br /> <br />COUNCIL BUSINESS <br /> <br />Case #1: <br /> <br />Request for conditional use permit to construct <br />electrical substation; Case of United Power Association <br /> <br />Mr. Merland Otto stated that United Power Association is requesting a <br />conditional use permit to construct an electrical substation on a 1.6 acre <br />parcel located North of City }{all and fronting on 153rd Avenue Northwest. <br />The Planning and Zoning Commission has conducted a public hearing and has <br />recommended adoption of the findings of fact and approval of the request <br />for a conditional use permit. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Bawden and seconded by Councilmember Sorteberg to <br />adopt Findings of Fact 0223 relating to United Power Association's request <br />to construct an electrical substation. <br /> <br />Further discussion. Councilmember DeLuca inquired as to the noise level of <br />this substation. Mr. Otto replied that some of members of the Planning and <br />Zoning Commission visited a similar substation and could not detect any <br />noise level unless they were standing on the fence line of the substation. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Reimann, Councilmembers Sorteberg, <br />DeLuca, Pearson and Bawden. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember DeLuca and seconded by Councilmember Pearson to <br />approve United Power Association's request for a conditional use permit to <br />construct an electrical substation. <br /> <br />Motion carried.
