MASTER TRAIL PLAN By: Leonard Linton, Civil Engineer Ii Mark Riverblood, Parks & Utilities Supervisor CASE Background: For the past several months, the Commission has been receiving draft sections of the Master Trail Plan, and directing feedback to LHB, the consulting firm assembling the document. At the Commission's December 5th, 2003, meeting, it was agreed that SectiOns 3 and 4 would be addressed, in January with 7 and 8 during February 2004. The early drafts of these t~%sectio:ns (7 & 8), havebeen integrated into a single Section 7 - addressing "Operations and Maintenance". This portion of the Master Trail Plan will require more staffinput than the other subjects within - the plan. Staff will be reviewing the content of the section for modifications to the draft that was forwarded to the rest of the Commission by Chairperson Johns on February 6th, 2004. The changes are expected to be significant. , ... As for the rest of schedule for the document, it is staff's projection that a final draft may available for park and Recreation Commission approval on or before the regular April meeting. The Commission will note that to date there have not been Ramsey specific pictures within the draft sections, but rather, place "holders". These photos can be taken in late May or early June, and then added to the appropriate places in the text, for submittal to Council. the March 11 th, 2004 meeting, it is expected the entire draft Master Trail Plan, including For one of the more important elements, the actual trail routing map, will be available for review and comment. Copies of the referenced Section 7 will be available at the meeting.
