CASE #: 3

REQUEST FOR CHANGE IN CURRENT PAY SCHEDULE
By: David Griffin, Fire Chief

Background:

The Fire Department would like to change the current pay schedule for fire calls from $5.00 per
hour after the first two hours to a straight $5.00 per hour. Since a majority of the calls this year
have taken approximately one to one and one-half hours and then a routine one-half hour
maintenance clean-up and back-in-service inspection of all the equipment, the City is only paying
the individualS:for One hour of service. Maintenance of the equipment after each call is to ensure
that all the equipment is back in a safe and operational condition and ready for the next fire call.
The Fire Fighters are still in agreement that the drills remain at the current pay schedule which is
$5.00 for each [four hours of trainings or meetings.

Fire Board Action:

Based on discussion.

Review Checklist:

Fire Chief

FB: 11/20/91
