The Park Center Building, in addition to providing meeting
spaces, also ~;erves as storage for park maintenance equipment and space for the Ramsey Youth
Athletic Association.

Improvements for summer of 1991 include:

-- some landscaping of the Park Center Building and developing a picnic area
between the Park Center Building and holding area to the east.
-- phase II of the sliding hill
-- installation of players benches at the new softball fields
-- installation of a pay phone at the picnic shelter/concession stand.

Observations:

-- vandalism continues to be a problem
-- additional field lighting will be needed
-- the park department receives many requests for tennis courts
-- blacktopping parking lots would benefit all park users, reduce maintenance
costs and result in increased safety

Because of this meeting location, it would be prudent to conduct a brief tour to examine
facilities and maintenance requirements characteristic of all park property.

Tour subject to weather and light conditions. Bring your sneakers!!

Commission Action:

Will be based on your discussion.

Review Checklist:

Acting City Administrator
City Engineer
Parks/Utilities Coordinator

Parks: 4/11/91
