§ 2.04 Park and ~tion Commission <br /> <br />As a consequence of the increasing complexity of the park and recreation function, <br />it is desirable to establish a park and recreation commission; and <br /> <br />It is acknowledged that the significance of the park and recreation function is such <br />that it must be effectively responsive to the citizens of the community; and <br /> <br />In pursuit of such goals, the City Council recognizes the need to define the duties <br />and responsibilities to be assigned a park and recreation commission; <br /> <br />Therefore, there is hereby established within the City of Ramsey an advisory park <br />and recreation cornr~ission. <br /> <br />2.04.02 Title. This organization shall be known as the l%amsey Park and <br />Recreation Commission. <br /> <br />2.04.03 Scope. The scope of activity of this commission shall consist of <br />advising the City Council and other l%amsey advisory commissions regarding <br />matters relevant to the City's park and recreation facilities. <br /> <br />2.04.04 Objective. The primary objective of this cornm~ssion is to monitor and <br />reflect the attitudes and concerns of the citizens of l%amsey relative to the park <br />system and recreation proKrams, and to advise the City Council of citizen attitudes <br />and policy matters relevant to the park and recreation function in l~amsey. <br /> <br />2.04.05 Duties ~d Responsibilities. In fulfillment of its objective, the duties <br />and responsibilities of the comr~is~ion shall be to: <br /> <br /> Subdivisionl. Develop, recommend, and upon adoption by the City <br />Council, monitor the execution of a comprehensive plan for the park and <br />recreation function in the City of l~msey. <br /> <br /> Sub&2. l%eport to the City Council regarding achievements toward <br />fulfillment of the comprehensive plan and recommend amendments to the plan as <br />necessary. <br /> <br /> Subc].3. Continually review and evaluate the park system <br />development and recreation programming. <br /> <br /> Subd. 4. Develop and recommend methods to stimulate positive <br />public interest in the park and recreation functions. <br /> <br /> Sub& 5. Monitor and reflect attitudes and consensus of citizens <br />relative to the park system and recreation pro,rams and serve as a for~m for the <br />citizens to voica their opinions regarding the park and recreation function. <br /> <br /> Sub(i& Promote coordination with the school district(s) serving <br />l{ar~sey, encouraging the interchangeable use of city and school district facilities <br />and programs to the best interests of the citizens. <br /> <br />Page t0 <br /> <br />Printed 12/28/90 <br /> <br /> <br />
