CC Regular Session 4. 7. <br />Meeting Date: 12/09/2014 <br />By: Colleen Lasher, Administrative <br />Services <br />Information <br />Title <br />Adopt Resolution #14-12-256 to Accept the City Administrator's Annual Performance Evaluation <br />Purpose/Background: <br />The purpose of this case is to accept the City Administrator's annual performance evaluation. <br />As part of the one year, 360 degree performance evaluation for the City Administrator, direct reports, members of <br />the City Council, the Chairs of the City Boards and Commissions, and the City Administrator completed electronic <br />performance evaluations. Subsequently, the results were compiled and the Mayor and City Administrator met to <br />discuss the results of the evaluation. <br />At the November 25, 2014 City Council work -session, the Council met in a closed session to conduct an annual <br />performance evaluation of City Administrator Kurt Ulrich, as required by his employment agreement. The session <br />was closed pursuant to Minnesota Statutes § 13D.05, subdivision 3(a). Due to prior commitments, Councilmember <br />Backus and Councilmember Tossey were not able to attend. <br />Mr. Ulrich reviewed the current status of the balanced scorecard as compared to the City's defined metrics and <br />goals. A balanced scorecard is a strategic planning system that is used to align business activities to the vision and <br />strategy of an organization; the City of Ramsey's balanced scorecard was adopted as part of the City's Three-year <br />Strategic Action Plan -- resolution #13-05-099. The Mayor and Councilmembers discussed the City <br />Administrator's interactions with the City Council, staff, and the public. It was the consensus of the City Council <br />that Mr. Ulrich's performance has been remarkable and is well aligned to continue advancing the City's Strategic <br />Plan. <br />Observations/Alternatives: <br />Staff does not recommend any alternatives. <br />Funding Source: <br />Not applicable. <br />Recommendation: <br />To accept Mr. Kurt Ulrich's annual performance evaluation. <br />Action: <br />Motion to adopt Resolution #14-12-256 accepting Mr. Kurt Ulrich's performance evaluation for the time period of <br />September 2013 through September 2014. <br />Attachments <br />Resolution 1412256 <br />Resolution 1305099 <br />
