August 22, 2014). In order to achieve the forecasted 9,100 households by 2020, an average of 75 new
households per year would need to occur. This forecasts appears reasonable.
2030 and 2040 Forecasts
First, we acknowledge that the 2040 Forecasts have already been adopted. Ramsey also notes concerns that
were raised in our April response.
Given the variables that are available to us at this time, Ramsey does not support the 2030 and 2040 Forecasts
at this time. Without a clear resolution to transportation and water supply capacity, it is unclear the exact impacts
to future growth. Ramsey clearly identifies needed regional capacity improvements in transportation and water
supply.
Conclusion
While the City generally supports the draft forecasts from a Future Land Use Map perspective, the current
regional policy plans appear not to support these forecasts from an infrastructure capacity perspective. We
encourage the Metropolitan Council to identify additional investments in the Transportation Policy Plan and
Water Resources Policy Plan to support the forecasted growth.
Sincerely,
CI`VY OF
Tim' Gladh
Community Development Director
r
