Voting No: None. <br /> <br />COUNCIL BUSINESS <br /> <br />CASE # 1: Presentation to Art Dussl by the Anoka County Branch <br /> of the American Red Cross <br /> <br />John Weaver, Chairperson of the Anoka County Branch of the American <br />Red CrosS,!!reported that as principal of Anoka Senior High School <br />and as a ~en~er of the Anoka County Red Cross Board, Art Dussl <br />instituted the first Blood Bank Program for students at Anoka <br />Senior High. His work was very influential and has spread <br />nation-wide. The American Red Cross wishes to thank Mr. Dussl and <br />give recognition for his volunteer efforts. <br /> <br />Sandy Sto~ner, Director of the St. Paul Blood Bank, then reviewed <br />the contributions made by Mr. Dussl, Including serving on the Anoka <br />County Am{~ican Red Cross Board for 11 years, donating blood for <br />over 25 y~ars, and supporting student bloodmobiles for at least 10 <br />years. M~. Dussl has lived In Anoka County for 26 years and <br />resides i~ the City of Ramsey. She thanked Mr. Dussl for his <br />valuable a~sl!stance, dedication, and con~nltment, and then presented <br />him wlth ~ plaque of appreciation for his contributions to the <br />American I~ed Cross. <br /> <br />Art Dussl iSta~ted the focus should not be on him but rather on the <br />American Re~ d Cross. He complimented the people at Lord of Life <br />Church in Ramsey for holding bloodmobiles. Mr. Dussl complimented <br />the Red CrOSSr for their emergency assistance to memDers of the <br />community,i' and he complimented the City Council for participating <br />in the Anoka County Red Cross Swim-a-Thon to raise funds for the <br />Red Cross ~ff~rts. <br /> <br />CASE # 2: Charter Co~lsslon Appointments <br /> <br />Mrs. Heiling explained there is one vacancy on the Charter <br />Commissionir at this time, and there will be three additional <br />vacancies pn May 12, 1991. Two applications have been receive~, <br />both of wh~m are present this evening.
