§ 9.10 <br /> <br />Performance Standards <br /> <br />structure may also include the difference between the square <br />footage of the attached or detached garage and 864 square feet. No uses lawfully existing in the rural residential districts (Rural Serv/ce <br />Ares, Rural Transition Area, and Urban Reserve Area) prior to January 1, 1990 <br />shall be considered a non-conforming use as a result of adoption of the residential <br />density overlay districts. <br /> <br />9.11.04 Home occupations. In order to provide peace, quiet, and domestic <br />tranquility within all residential neighborhoods, within the City, and in order to <br />guarantee to all residents freedom from excessive noise, excessive traffic, <br />nudsance, fire hazard and other possible effects of commercial uses being <br />conducted in residential areas. <br /> <br /> Subdivision 1. No home occupation shall be permitted without the <br />prior issuance of a conditional use permit. <br /> <br /> Subd. 2. Ali home occupations authorized by conditional use permit <br />shall conform to the following standards: <br /> <br />Permitted home occupations shall not be conducted in any <br />building on the premises other than the building which is used by <br />the occupant as the private dwelling; and, furthermore, that not <br />more than one room may be used for such purpose. <br /> <br />No interior or exterior business sign shall be permdtted unless <br />authorized by the sign regulations for residential districts. <br /> <br />There shall be no exterior storage of business equipment, <br />materials, merchandise, inventory or heavy equipment. <br /> <br />The area set aside for home occupations shall not exceed 20% of <br />the total floor area of such residence. <br /> <br />fo <br /> <br />Permitted home occupations shall not include the emplo>maent of <br />any persons not residing on the premises in the performance of <br />the occupation. <br /> <br />No exterior displays of the home occupation shall be permitted. <br /> <br />Off-street loading and off-street parking requirements of §9.11.14 <br />and §9.1t.10 must be provided. <br /> <br />Page 340 <br /> <br />Printed 12/28/90 <br /> <br /> <br />
