Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Case #6: McKinley Street Extension <br /> <br />Mr. Schroeder stated that the City has received signed agreements from the two owners of the land <br />in Industrial Park Ist Addition deeding over the right-of-way for the McKinley Street extension. <br />In return, the City is agreeing to construct ro~way improvements which are estimated at $400,000 <br />plus the engineering fees. He stated it seems very expensive; however, he believes City Council <br />desires to encourage industrial development in this area which makes this a reasonable project to <br />pursue. <br /> <br />Mayor Gilbertson recessed the meeting at 8:54 p.m. <br /> <br />Mayor Gilbertson reconvened the meeting at 9:05 p.m. <br /> <br />Mr. Jankowski presented a map showing the proposed alignment of McKinley Street and <br />discussion ensued regarding this proposal. <br /> <br />Councilmember Hardin stated that if and when the City of Ramsey will be able to connect with the <br />City of Anoka, there is another property involved, the Seed Estate. <br /> <br />Mayor Gilbertson stated that in his opinion, the Council has to take action as to not proceed at this <br />point would be a waste of the taxpayer's money. <br /> <br />Councilmember Hardin stated he does not have a problem proceeding with the extension; however, <br />he would like some assurances from the City of Anoka and from the Seed Estate that they will <br />cooperate. <br /> <br />Mr. Schroeder stated that the agreement requires the City of Ramsev to complete the construction <br />of McKinley Street bv the end of 1991 and he felt the City should ask for an extension to the time <br />frame such as June 1, 1992. <br /> <br />Upon inquio', Mr. Spohn stated he is in a~eement with that date. <br /> <br />Motion by Counciimember Hardin and seconded by Councilmember Bever to ratify the Council's <br />earlier action directing the City Administrator to enter into an a~eement with the owners of <br />property within the McKinley Street development area for fight-of-way acquisition contingent upon <br />obtaining assurances from the Git5' of Anoka and the Seed Estate regarding their intention to <br />cooperate and establish an alignment from Thurston Avenue to Sunfish Lake Boulevard N.W. <br /> <br />Motion carried. \"oting Yes: ix4avor Gilbertson.
