The ~oss <br /> surface ~a of a w~l, c~opy or m~quee sign sh~l not exc~ fifteen (15%) pe~ent of the <br /> ~ea of the buiI~ng w~l, inclu~ng d~rs ~d windows, to which the sign is to ~ affixed. <br /> The ~ss surface ~ of a wall, canopy or m~quee sign may ~ in~e~ed by ten percent <br /> if such w~l si~: <br /> <br />consists only of individual, outlined alphabetic, numeric and/or symbolic characters <br />without background except that provided_ by the building surface to which the sign <br />is to be affixed; and <br /> <br />illumination, if any, is achieved through shielded illumination, shielded silhouette <br />lighting, or shielded spot lighting but not any lighting where the light source is <br />visible or exposed on the face or sides of the characters. <br /> <br />A wall, canopy or marquee sign may be located on the outermost wall of any principal <br />building but shall not project more than sixteen (16) inches from the wall to which the sign <br />is to be affixed. A wall sign shall not project higher than the parapet line of the wall to <br />which the sign is to be aff~xed. <br /> <br />b) <br /> <br />Primary Ground Sign. There shall not be more than one primary ground sign for each <br />automobile dealership. The gross surface area of a primaw ground sign shall not exceed <br />one hundred (100) square feet for each exposed face nor exceed an aggregate gross surface <br />area of two hundred (200) squre feet. Primary ground signs may be located in any <br />required yard but shall not extend over an3, lot line or within fifteen (15) feet of an>, point of <br />vehicular access from a zoning lot to a public roadway. A prima_,3., =--round sign shall not <br />project higher than 25 feet as measured from base of sign or g'rade of the nearest adjacem <br />roadway, whichever is lower. <br /> <br />c) <br /> <br />Secondayv Ground Sign. Secondar)' ~ound signs shall be permitted only if two (25 or <br />more new automotive product lines (automobile makes') are offered for sale on the <br />premises. The gross sm'face area of a secondary ~ound sign shall not exceed fifty (50) <br />square feet for each exposed face nor exceed an ag~egate ~oss surface area of one- <br />hundred (100) square feet.
