R. ltorton Homes <br /> <br />Presentation, <br /> <br />Assistant Co~nmunity Development Director Trudgeon advised:~Staff has received architectural <br />elevations an~l flo~r plans for the units. The development is proposing two different attached <br />housing styles. He stated both styles will have exterior materials comprised of three different <br />types of viny! siding, with one style a 'shaker' style to provide some variety and texture. He <br />indicated the lDeveloper has indicated they will utilize three to four color schemes of white, <br />medium gray; sand and clay, with the fascia being either white or adark color. He indicated the <br />Developer has also indicated they will be utilizing accents of green and terra cotta around certain <br />architectural l~¢atures as well as on the doors and porches. He stated there will be masonry below <br />the window ~ills ion the first floor· The roof will be comprised of asphalt shingles of a <br />complementaW color. He advised the units themselves will have a variety of architectural <br />features, including l~ay windows, second story porches, articulated walls and different roof styles. <br /> <br />Assistant Community Development DireCtor Trudgeon explained Staff has reviewed the <br />information p~ovided and finds them generallY': aCCeptable. ,_H_e stated the, distinct architectural <br />features will' address Staff's original concern about §e6ing a wall of units. He indicated these <br />features break, up the umts as viewed fi.om thestreet to brmg about a pleasing msual aesthetic. <br />Staff would like to point out that as the Town Center continues to develop in future phases, the <br />City would fi 'lq9 ~.~ee additional colors to be used for the exterior besides the neutral earth tones <br />that are so ~]~i ih other town home developments within the City. <br />Assistant; Community Development Director TrUdgeon further advised the landscaping plan is <br />generally acceptabie subject to swapping some of the deciduous trees for coniferous trees and <br />relocating.s_o'~e ofthd shrubs closer to the back-to-back units. He stated the City is requinng a <br />sigm plan~s~o~ing.~ll ~ddress, street, and traffic control signs in order to ensure an orderly look <br />for the dexJe~?'~ffif~t. He noted the Police Department wants address range signs installed, <br />therefore Staff i~n,.ts"----- to review the entire sign plan to make sure it looks good. Staff <br />recommends a~prb~al of the request. <br /> <br />ChairpersOn Nixt asked how they could assure they get some variation in color for aesthetics. <br /> <br />Assistant c~munity Development Director Trudgeon stated the Developer has outlined what <br />colors they[~iil use for this development. He indicated those comments were more about <br /> · -;~.~ . <br />assunng varal~mn m future development. <br /> <br />Commissi/oner rVan Scoy stated Case #9 deals with the architectural standards for medium and <br />high density 'd~velopments.
