Councihnember Elvig inquired if staff felt that there was a need to increase the amount budgeted <br />for street maintenance in 2007 and 2008. <br /> <br />Councihnember Strom~nen replied that she thought they could be more accurate with the figures <br />as they get closer to those years. <br /> <br />The Finance Committee reviewed some of the projects included within the CIP, which included <br />Elmcrest Park.: Councilmember Elvig stated that he has had preliminary meetings with John <br />Peterson and he has indicated a willingness to assist with providing a road through his property <br />for access to Elmcrest Park. He questioned if it would make sense for staff to start having <br />discussions with Mr. Peterson. <br /> <br />Assistant Director of Public Works Olson replied yes. <br /> <br />Counciln~ember Elvig inquired if there was a consensus to have staff start negotiating with Mr. <br />Peterson. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec replied that he thought that was the only thing that made sense. <br /> <br />Motion by Cou, ncilmember Elvig, seconded by Councilmember Strommen, to recommend that <br />the City Council authorize staff to begin negotiating with Mr. Peterson regarding a northerly <br />access to Elmcrest Park. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Elvig, Councilmembers Strommen, and Mayor <br />Gamec.
