There shall not be more than one institutional <br /> ~ttraction board for each principal building and it may be either wall or ground type <br /> Or constructed as a part of the Institutional Identification Sign. The gross surface <br /> areaiof an attraction board shall not exceed fifty square feet for each exposed face <br /> nor ~xceed an aggregate gross surface area of one hundred (100) square feet. Attraction boards shall not exceed fifteen (15) feet in <br /> height as measured from the base of the sign or building to which the sign is to be <br /> affixed or the grade of the nearest adjacent roadway, whichever is higher. <br /> <br />9 Directional Signs. Directional or instructional signs are restricted to <br /> 0n-~ite direction and instruction, with the exception of governmental <br /> igns and public event signs, and shall not exceed four (4) square <br /> eeti Such signs shall only provide direction or instruction to guide <br /> persons to facilities intended to serve the public. <br /> <br />10 Maintenance. <br /> <br />The surface! and structure of all signs must be kept refinished as necessary to prevent the <br />sign surface from becoming unkempt in appearance. The Zoning Officer shall use <br />the following guidelines to 0elermine if lh¢ sign is unkempt: rust, peeling <br />pain[.~strfictural damage, message damage, weathering. When an5, sign for <br /> <br />which ~ permit is required is removed, the zoning officer shall be notified and the entire <br />sign and its Components shall be removed. <br /> <br />The pet'miti owner shall be responsible for all of the requirements of this ordinance, <br />includidg the liability for expense of removal and maintenance incurred by the C!ty. <br /> <br />11 Sign Content <br /> <br />No silgn .shall contain obscene images or statements in violation of <br />Minne~ota~ Statute 617.241. <br /> PROH[BITED SIGNS <br /> <br />"A" Frame or Sandwich Board Signs. "A" Frame or Sandwich Board signs <br />,'ire Prohi bi ted. <br /> <br />;Banners, Pennants, Whirling Devices and Searchlights.
