Chesterfiel~<~ounty Air~ort <br /> <br />A Master Pla~ $~udy was prepared for this reliever airport. Among the <br />high priori~ i~provement needs was extension of the primary Runway <br />15-33 to se~ ~e needs of area business aircraft. We prepared the <br />environmental~ a~sessment for an 1100' extension and widening of the <br />runway as wel~ ~s land acquisition. Additional assignments for pre- <br />liminary separate preapplications land acquisition <br /> engineering <br /> and <br /> for <br />and the conS~r~Otion work were prepared. A relatively small but well <br />organized a~ vgCal residents adamantly opposed the planned airport <br />upgrading. ~e!(environmental assessment and public hearing process <br />specifically ~ddressed their concerns.and contained mitigative <br />measures t°i~P~ement through the engineering and construction phases. <br />The runway , ~te~sion wa~ completed in 1984. <br />Park Rapids MU~'n~cipal Airport <br />The city of ~ar~ Rapids desired to initiate development of a new <br />arrival-depa.~tu~e building, apron expansion, connecting taxiways and <br />new hangar d~e~opment. The City commissioned Larson Peterson <br />Associates a~!~the prime engineer with Merland Otto of Ralph Burke <br />Associates sm~rv~ng as airport consultant to develop facility <br />requirements,I p~eliminary cost estimates, preliminary engineering <br />report and a~i~t with the AIP grant applicat%on. A unique <br />consideratt?.~.~ o~ facility requirements for thls basic transport <br />airport is ~t:!3M operates a conference facility near Park Rapids. <br />They regul&r~y ~perate two F-27's and a GII in a tight wave to <br />transport a~ p~ck up conference attendees. The preliminary <br />engineering ~p~rt and application was completed within three weeks <br />enabling the iCily to proceed with design of the project. <br />Princeton M~ic~al Airport <br />Hakanson And~sOn Associates was commissioned' ' by the City to assist <br /> <br /> <br />
