G~ ,~RO3/ISIONS FOR MOVING <br />AND RELATED ]~X~ENSE PAYMENTS. <br /> a. Eligibility. l~$11ow~g is a description of the <br />criteria for movi~!$1paynlent eligibility. <br />(1) Any indi~i4ual, ~ifamiIy, business or farm <br />operator is ~ligi~le to receive payment for <br />the reasona~!e e~J~pen~es of moving his per- <br /> <br /> (a) The ~lisplaced person is in occupancy <br /> at the~ in~ation of negotiations for <br /> the ~quisjtion of the real property in <br /> whol~ or ih part; or <br /> (b) The ~Li~Pi~ced person is in occupancy <br /> at the time he is given a written notice <br /> by ~e Sponsor that it is its intent to <br /> arqulre the property by a given date; <br /> <br /> (c) The ~ispl~ed person moves from the <br /> real proP*ny or moves his personal <br /> pr~t~jrty [rom the real property sub- <br /> SeClU*nt t~the earliest date established <br /> in l~ragraphs (a) and (b) above; <br /> and i <br /> (d) Thelreal property is subsequently ac- <br /> <br /> (e) If the move occurs after a written <br /> orfle~' to vacate is issued, the occupant <br /> is d~i~le)even though the property is <br /> n~ ~aFquired. <br /> (~) Where thc ~cqubition of real property used <br /> for a busin~e~s or farm operatien which is <br /> eligible for & moying payment causes a per- <br /> <br />CHAPTER 6. RELOCATION MOVING PAYMENTS <br /> <br /> SOn 'to vacate a dwelling' or other real!pr°p7 <br /> erty not acquired or to move his-perS°naI~ <br /> property from other real property)not ac, <br /> quired, the additiona'l expeiises of moving <br /> such personal property are 'i~ligible for the <br /> appropriate moving Payments,'ai/~p~ded <br /> in the UnifOrm' Ae(~and implem~ming ~g- <br /> ulations. ' ' ' · ' <br /> (3) Federal funds will not be used fOr paying the <br /> costs of moving expenses of occupants who <br /> succeed a displaced person who was in oc- <br /> cupancy at the time of initi'a~ion of negotia- <br /> tions or who has been given a written notice <br /> of intent to acquire. <br /> b. Distance of Move. There is no limitation on <br />the distance a displaced person moves either inter- <br />state or intrastate. However, Federal participation <br />is limited to moving expenses not to exceed a 50- <br />mile move either interstate or intrastate except <br />when the Sponsor determines, with FAA concur- <br />rence, that relocation cannot be accomplished with- <br />in the 50-mile area. Such exceptions may only be <br />allowed to the nearest adequate and available site. <br /> c. Where Moved To. Federal funds may be used <br />to participate in a payment for relocating personal <br />property of a displaced person that is moved onto <br />remaining or other lands owned by the displaced <br />person or his landlord. <br /> d. Advertising for Bids. The expenses incurred <br />in advertising for packing, crating and transporta- <br />tion are reimbursable when the Sponsor determines <br />that such advertising is necessary. The advertising <br />should he limited to complicated or unusual moves <br />where advertising is the only method of securing <br />bids. <br /> e. Cost of Moving Bids. The expenses incurred <br />by the Sponsor for obtaining bids or estimates of <br />moving expenses are reimbursable, not to exceed <br />two bids per move. <br /> f. Direct Payment to Mover. By written prear- <br />rangement between the Sponsor, the displaced per- <br />son, and. the mover, the displaced person may pre- <br />sent an unpaid moving bill to the Sponsor for direct <br />payment. <br /> <br />43 <br /> <br /> <br />
