Mr. Hardin went on to say that the company held its first annual <br />shareholder's! meeting in January of 1986 and that monthly meetings are held <br />at 7:30 a~m. on the first Thursdays of each month at the Ramsey Municipal <br />Center. It is now in the organizational stages. Two subcommittees have <br />been set Wp, a Finance Subcommittee and a Promotional Subcommittee. The <br />organizatf~on is acting as a liaison between the City and developers. They <br />are now looking into financing options that are available. <br /> <br />Mr. Hardin further stated that the EDC recently published a pamphlet <br />containing information on businesses currently located in the City, City <br />services and ~fnformation, etc. This pamphlet will be helpful in giving <br />prospectige businesses some positive insight and information into the City <br />of Ramsey. <br /> <br />Commissioner Sieber arrived at 7:40 p.m. <br /> <br />Mr. Hard~n explained that they have set up groups to meet with businesses <br />that are ~Ons~dering moving into Ramsey and tonight will be addressing the <br />Planningiand Zoning Commission also and get a list of items that <br />prospective b~sinesses have to do before moving into the City. <br /> <br />Chairman:Ip~el asked if the company was going to utilize the Ramsey <br />Resident newsletter to provide the public with information. <br /> <br />Mr. Hardin stated that they will be using the Resident as an informational <br />tool. In.order to succeed, they need participation from as many people as <br />~ossible. <br /> <br />Commissioner Sieber asked if there was any connection between the City and <br />the company other than their goals, and if this is a non-profit <br />organization. <br /> <br />Mr. Hardin responded that right now the people involved in both are the <br />same because it's just getting started, but the company will eventually be <br />more involved in coordinating efforts with businesses. He stated that yes, <br />this is a non-profit organization. Stocks are $25 per share and are used <br />to provide working capital for the oompany. There is no expected income <br />from the stock that is sold. <br /> <br />Chairman Ippel questioned the type of financing available. <br /> <br />Mr. Hard~n stated that CDBG funds are available. <br /> <br />Commissioner Stauffer stated that they could possibly consider charging <br />businesses for their services and use that money to defray costs. <br /> <br />Commissioner Donovan oomplimented Mr. Hardin and Mr. DeLuca on the nice <br />brochure and Stated that it is a good step for Ramsey. He went on to say <br />that he r~ally appreciates their efforts. <br /> <br />Mr. Hardin_ stated that the Economic Development Commission published it and <br />that it turned out well for a first time brochure. He also mentioned that <br />they have been giving this brochure to various real estate agents.
