Chairman _Ippel. - ~here is other regular business to discuss 'but this public
hearing w~l certainly be a topic of discussion; cannot say for sure if there
will be a ,re~mmendation made at the special meeting. Keep in mind that this
public hea~in9 was on the airport master plan; the recommendation from the
Airport ~(l~!Ssion to City (buncil will regard whether or not to adopt this
airport master plan. Council then will make a decision to adopt the plan, as a
plan; not ~toi~Start construction. If the plan is adopted and all subsequent
phases of: ~the plan went like clockwork, the earliest construction could begin
would be 1989,

Sharon Mager - H~ long before the plan goes to Council for adoption?

Chairman Ippel - I really don't know but I hope the Airport Conlnission's
reoommen$ati~ would be on the next regular Council agenda; Council will want
time to review it and doubt they will act on it until October or November.

Co~mission~ z Donovan - Thanked citizens for attending this hearing and raising
important ~ueStions. Regarding someone's earlier (x~rment regarding 'too bad it
has gone th. iS .far', the citizens should be thankful that it has gone this far.
Important~uestions have been raised and we do not have the angers to some of
these ques~ ions, i.e., being compensated for not being able to subdivide. I
was pessimistic to an airport but in the last two year process, mf pessimistic
attitude has .dlanged. I will try to look at the big picture and the benefits
to R~sey,' I live in the northeast part of Ramsey and realize that to most of
the citizens present the big picture is right outside their windows; I have no
formula fo~ w .e/ghing citizen input but I will certainly take it into
consideration.

(/m~issi°aer Stauffer - Live close to the runway and aware of low flying
planes. Iam very impressed with some of the people that have approached this
Co~missionlat ~evious meetings, like small business owners for instance, and
the infor~&tton I have gained from them. In regards to an earlier con~ent made
regarding Why develop an airport that can' t be expanded, I can live with the
present si~e a/rplanes being accommodated at Gateway; I would be very happy
with an airport that cannot be expanded.

Omm~issioner Greenberg - I agrccd to serve on this Cxm~ission because of my
close invoiVe~ent with the airport since it's inception. I will abstain from
voting on ~/le reoc~mmendation because I am so involved with the airport.

Cxm~issioner Larsen - I agreed to serve on the Commission because of my broad
experience in project management and my interest in what's best for Ramsey.
Since being appointed to the Commission I moved from Ramsey and offered my
resignation. My resignation was not accepted because it was felt that my
expertise WOul~ remain useful to the Coxmission; I agreed to remain on the
Commission. ~lere is a tough decision before us now and more to come.

Commissioner Erickson - The tough decisions are yet to come. I am a resident
of Ramsey and an airport participant. Our decision cannot be based strictly on
a useage basis; it has to be a benefit to Ramsey, otherwise it does not benefit
the majority..This (Ix~nission has to take the opposition into consideration
and weight that against the overall benefit.
