Resident How many hcmes actually will be bought out?

Mr. Otto - Passed around copies of a reduced version of the airport layout
plan.

Resident - Will the special Airport Meeting in Septemer be open to the public?

Chairman Ippel - All Council and Commission meetings are open to the public.
Any citizeJ~ ~an approach Council or Gommissions during the Citizen Input
portion ofi their meetings; all regular meeting dates are listed on City Hall's
front door, C~ble Chap~nel 10 and Tri-City Newsletter. There are no excuses for
not know~ What is going on in the City. As a Commission, it has been very
disappoi~tl~ ito conduct meetings and the citizens have not been interested
enough to atte. nd the meetings. The Tri-City Newsletter also contains condensed
Council a~ ~ission minutes; the information is there if the people want to
avail tho',SelVes of it.

Jim Kuns -i 7~1 152nd Ave ~ - I am one of the guilty citizens, as far as
getting ir~olved in City issues. The last meeting I attended was the landfill
hearing atl Ra~sey Elementary. The citizens have only themselves to blame for
letting th~.~, s 'issue get as far as it has. If we want to fight this airport, we
will all have to attend meetings; it may be too late but we all have to com~it
ourselves ko letting the City know whatever we feel about the airport. I think
there is a better way to bring economic development to the City rather than
with an ai~por~t. If an airport is a beautiful plun, why aren't cities lined up
begging for airports.

Mr. Merla~ Or. to - Rush City, Princeton, St. James, New Ulm and Dodge Center
all have s~mething in ~on: They realized that they could not maintain
status quo ian~ each of these cities made a decision to pursue additional
business in their oo~u~ty and part of that pursuit has been in improving
their airlifts. Ramsey's is not an isolated case.

Dave Cha~an - 16042 Ramsey Blvd. - I think the members of the Airport
Co~missio~ are a good representation of Ramsey's citizens; I believe they have
good judgement and I will abide by their recommendation and decision. I have
lived in R~sey 15 years and you must realize the progress cannot be stopped.
Progress will happen whether you like it or not and that progress might as well
be developed by us rather than having Metro Council get involved. I think the
airport wo~ld...be of great bermfit to the oo~unity. I came to this decision 4
years ago Whey my company ran an ad for a secretary and a bookkeeper; received
125 calls in response to the ad.

Rita Skold - 15410 Marmoset - Neither my husband nor myself want to see this
airport go through. We want Ramsey to expand but we think there is a better
way than with an airport. There are communities growing without airports.

The Commissi°n set a special meeting date of Tuesday, September 3 at 7:30 p.m.
at City Hall.

Sharon Mager - Will the Airport Co~mission be making their reco~endation at
that special ~eeting.
August 21, 1985
