Chairman Ippe! - You can' t say that if you are for development you are against people beo~se develo~ent benefits people. I represent the City of Ramsey. Council appointed this Cc~mission to put in time and effort to look at this airport i~e-and make evaluations. Personally, ~ feeling is that I think I represent the C/ty of Ramsey; that City is made up of a lot of individual people ar~ interests. ~here are people who don' t care that their children are running ~Pap~ down the streets with 3-wheelers and dirt bikes; there are other people wh~'. take offense to that; others are for and against development; there are people w~ want a balanced ccm~nunity; and people that want a rural cc~munity.~ My decision will be based upon what I feel is going to be best for for the most number of people in Ramsey in a long run. Commissio~r ~ - My decision to accept appointment to this Commission was based on ~ irfcerest in the community and experience with past airport issues. The decision to be made in this case is not easy and weights heavily on our conscienoeS. Resident - What is the dirt moving activity behind Tc~ Thumb all about? Co~missio~r Siebert - Activity behind Tc~ Thumb is not related to airport development; ~derstand it is just r~oving gravel frc~ a gravel pit. Resident - It doesm' t make any difference what the people want - the construction of this City Hall building was voted down by the public but it was built anyway. (lmmissioner Sieber - What the people want does make a difference now that we have a ch~xter;; there was not a charter in existence when the new City Hall was being considered. Several years ago, I screamed against an airport being developed ~n General Mills property and I brought those feelings with me to this Co~ission. Slowly mf attitude is changing to where I see there is an economic benefit to the community. As a member of this Commission I have to represent tahel c/tizens when it comes time to vote; write or call me, this Commission ~or'City Council within the next 10 days and let us know your feelings on the issue. I will vote the way I think the majority of the people want me to, Approximately 1% of the City's population is represented at this public hea~ing; I would like to hear from the other 99%. Resident - Where does Cxm~nissioner Siebert work and live? Cc~missioner $iebert - ~ a vice l~esident of a development company and live at 7501 151st .Lane.. Too often people come to these meetings misinformed; these types of meetings give commissions a chance to let the people know what is really hap~er~ng.
