S~tudv That~Was_ Sent ~o Them.l <br /> <br />Chairman Ippel stated that Metro Council's corrm~ents were just recently <br />received and he has not had a chance to review them. <br /> <br />Chairman Ippel stated that he, Larry Koshak, Merland Otto and Lloyd Schnelle <br />met with the ~ Metropolitan Airport Con~uission; they liked Ramsey's plan and <br />could see iGateWay taking some of the stress off of Crystal and Anoka County <br />and reiterated that they have no interest in taking Gateway into their <br />control. <br /> <br />Chairman Ippel stated that he, Larry Koshak, Merland Otto and Lloyd Schnelle <br />also met with: FAA on January 16, 1985. FAA has started to review the Airport <br />Master Plan draft and they say that technically it looks good. Chairman Ippel <br />stated that FAA does have two points of concern so far: #1. An airpDrt <br />should not be. located within 5,000 feet of a landfill; #2. Getting the <br />airport included in the national airport system. <br /> <br />Doug Lida was present and stated that any landfill expansion would bring the <br />landfill eVen further into airport area. <br /> <br />Chairman Ippel replied that if this airport were to go through, it would <br />definitely put Site P out of the picture. <br /> <br />Chairman Zppe! stated that FAA is not prepared, at this time, to say that <br />Ramsey'$ Airport Master Plan draft is acceptable; that they do prefer to put <br />their money into airports with the potential for expansion but they do venture <br />into airports similar to that in Ramsey all the time. <br /> <br />.DisCussion Reaardina Comm/ssion's_ I39p~.~ressionDf Airport.
