The airport traffic leveIs we are ·talking <br />about aC Gateway in the near future would be no greater than <br />the traffic level at Gateway 5 years ago. The initial local <br />investm~'nt will be off-set 3 or 4 fold by the revenue ·generated <br />from the airport being there~ <br /> <br />Commissioner Sieber referred to the ~local investment and the <br />multiplying affect coming back to the City. 3'or 4 fold and pointed <br />out that iA the best of caseS~ it would mean g 10~,15%margin roy <br />Ramsey. <br /> <br />Chairman Ippel referred to Mr, Babcock's comment that one small <br />store wilt,generate $40,000 in revenue fo= Ramsey and inquired <br />as to w~at Ramsey has out here now that will attract that business <br />to loca~e in Ramsey. He further commented that a growing <br />industrialipark c=eates jobs and even if thOse employees don't <br />live in~RamseY they will patronize businesses in the area. To <br />develop ~an ~industrial park you need an attraction and an airport <br />is an a~traction that draws. <br /> <br />CommisSioner Greenbe~g agreed and stated that a good portion of <br />hzs buszneSs comes from employees of bUsinesseS in the area. <br /> <br />CommisSioner Sieber pointed out that an increase in business can <br />also be !'a~ributed to the· increase 'in population in 'RamseY. <br /> <br />DougLid~. ? Stated that supply and demand determines home values <br />and an ~n¢~e~se 'in emploMment-opportunities in RamseY would <br />increa~ t~·e 'demmnd for homes, Mr~ Leda also Stated that first <br />impressions-also determi·ne 'property values and first impressions <br />you get coming into Ramsey on Cty.
