Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Case #2: ~U~grization To Call For Bids For S~rinkler System For Central Park: <br /> <br />Motion bY ~o~cilmem~er Sorteberg and seconded by Councilmemt~er Reimann to adopt <br />ResolUti~n #84-37 authorizing the preparation of plans and specifications and <br />calling fo~ b~ds for a sprinkler system at Central Park. (Please refer to <br />resolution! fi%e for Resolution #84-37). <br /> <br />Motion carrie~. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Sorteberg, Reimann, <br />Schluete] andlVan Wagner. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Case ~3: iReq~est For Economic Development Block Grant Assistance; Case Of ~he Alexandra House: <br /> <br />Motion ~y ,Co%%gcilmember Van Wagner and seconded by Councilmember Schlueter to <br />adopt ReStitution #84-38 granting $3000.00 from the 1984 economic development <br />block gra~% f~nds to the Alexandra House, Inc. (Please refer to resolution <br />file for'Resolution #84-38). <br /> <br />Further DiScussion: Councilmember Reimann stated that the City cannot afford <br />to provia~ items within the City and all of a sudden we give away $3000.00. <br />Mr. Schne~le~tated that Revenue Sharing did away with small grants on the <br />basis th&~ communities would accept their responsibilty and designate portions <br />of their~DBGi funds for such causes. Mr. Schnelle suggested that Council might <br />set a po~°yi~o deal with situations of this type and pointed out that granting <br />use of C~y ~&ll for church services is a government grant in a manner of <br />speaking:.i~ MaFor Gamec stated that he firmly believes in the Alexandra House, <br />but how ~ny~rganizations should the City contribute to? Each Councilmember <br />has theiN!ifa~Qrite organization to which they would like to contribute. <br />Mr. Sch~"~leii~uggested that Council appoint a committee to work out a policy. <br />Councilmm~%ber~ Van Wagner stated that she has been informed by the City Police <br />Departme~ that animal control and domestic.:problems are the largest problem <br />areas in Ramsay, in that order. <br /> <br />Councilmm~ber. Van Wagner withdraws her motion. Councilmember Schlueter with- <br />draws hex i seCOnd to the motion. <br /> <br />Councilme~%be~ Reimann suggested that donations to community organizations <br />be plac~d:on!the Council/Commission Chairperson/Staff workshop agenda. <br /> <br />case #4: [i~P~ointment Of Economic Development Commission Merabor: <br /> <br />Motion by!CO~cilmember Reimann and seconded by Councilmember Schlueter to <br />approve Of ~p~:~inting Mr. Glen Hardin to fill the facancy created by Mr. <br />Joe Sen~Y~z'i~resignation from the Economic Development Commission. This <br />unexpired te:~ will expire on January 31, 1985. <br /> <br />Motion ~arried. Voting Yes: Mayor Game¢, O~uncilmembers Sorteberg, Reimann, <br />Schluet~ri~an4 Van Wagner.
