Inform&~io~ Cor~mittees - a. ~ iO~inion Committee - C~..~iS*ioner Data stated that in talking with Mounds View Mayor Bill Doty many t~mes over the past year, Mr. Doty has repeatedly told him that the'~ charter, and especially people on Council working with the Charter, ha~ s&ved the City of Mounds View literally thousands of dollars. The ch~rte~ has not cost the City of Mounds View more money. Commissioner D~.~ f~rther commented that it was the intention of the Charter Commission when w~'iting this charter, to safeguard the financial interest of the C!~ &~d he feels this Commission has done that. If this Commission were tO ;refer to the advantages that Commissioner Data subraitted some tirae ago, yea wo~ld see a couple pertaining to more citizen input and more public aw&ten,ss and we can add safeguarding the City's financial position l:~&u$~ of certain things we have written in our Charter.
