Inform&~io~ Cor~mittees - <br /> <br /> a. ~ iO~inion Committee - <br /> <br /> C~..~iS*ioner Data stated that in talking with Mounds View Mayor Bill Doty <br /> many t~mes over the past year, Mr. Doty has repeatedly told him that <br /> the'~ charter, and especially people on Council working with the Charter, <br /> ha~ s&ved the City of Mounds View literally thousands of dollars. The <br /> ch~rte~ has not cost the City of Mounds View more money. Commissioner <br /> D~.~ f~rther commented that it was the intention of the Charter Commission <br /> when w~'iting this charter, to safeguard the financial interest of the <br /> C!~ &~d he feels this Commission has done that. If this Commission were <br /> tO ;refer to the advantages that Commissioner Data subraitted some tirae ago, <br /> yea wo~ld see a couple pertaining to more citizen input and more public <br /> aw&ten,ss and we can add safeguarding the City's financial position <br /> l:~&u$~ of certain things we have written in our Charter.
