Commissioner D~ata stated that to ignore requests to delay the public meeting is bad politic~. Commissioner B~chanan stated that his prime reason for wanting to present the charter to i!0o~cil as soon as possible is to insure than an election can be held prior i to! ~chool letting out so that the voters will have more access to having a S~.y iD the charter. If the charter election is delayed until summer, people wi~ ha.~e to make a choice between voting on the charter and summer vacatiOn ~anSi and he does not want to have to force the voters to make that choice. ~ Commissioner B~uerkemper noted that all the Commissions have been receiving copies of~ ~har~er Commission .minutes; those commissioners will not study the document ~,ny ~re in the next 30 days than they have in the past months. Chairman Heitman stated that the two reasons for a public hearing are: 1. Recgiv~ input from citizens 2. ConVey ~o citizens what has been inputted. Chairman it~an further commented that these two same options have been available to the ci~t!ze~s the second and fourth Thursday of every month. Commissioner IJichter stated that he has lived in Ramsey 7 years and he has never rec~ve~ 30 days notice on anything. There is a development being proposed.~y ~Cq~ncil and a developer, they wanted a n~eting scheduled with the resi~ts Df Flintwood I and the residents of Flintwood I had a total of 18 hours ~gt~. Commissioner Lichter stated that he would like to remain with con~¢ti~g the meeting on February 15, 1984. Commissio~$r ~chanan pointed out that the public meeting date was noted in Charter ~i~sion minutes three weeks ago. Chairman !H$i~an noted that conducting a public hearing on the first charter draft do~s!no~ preclude conducting a public hearing on the fifth charter draft.
