Of the approximately 70 acres notices in <br /> <br />the Conditional Use Permit Application, only approximately 30 <br />acres wi~ b~ used for landfill purposes. The proposed landfill area within the South <br />70 is a portion of the area that has been found by the MPCA and <br />the MetrOPolitan Council to be intrinsically suitable for use as <br />a sanita~~ l~ndfill as described above. Intrinsic suitability is <br />defined as: follows: <br /> <br /> "Intrinsic Suitability" of a land area or <br /> Site means that, based on existing data on <br /> 'the inherent and natural attributes, physical <br /> i ifeatures, and location of the land area or <br /> ~i~e, there is no known reason why the waste <br /> !faclility proposed to be located in the area <br /> ~ or I site cannot reasonably be expected to <br /> qua!lily for permits in accordance with agency <br /> =utes.
