Ms. Haas stated that the <br />$.25 surcharge collected by Anoka County will not all go to Anoka <br />CountY;!60~ goes to the County hosting the landfill and 40% goes <br />to other counties in the metro area. Ms. Haas stated that she <br />feels c°un~ies that cannot have landfills and must have abatement <br />should get[some funds but those counties with landfills should not <br />have to gt~e up 40%. Ramsey's loss is something that is still to <br />be worked but; what we have to worry about between now and 1990 is <br />that we' d°~'t become the #1 dumping area. <br /> Councilme~er Reimann stated that the tipping fee should go to the <br /> city WhereI the landfill is located. <br /> <br /> City Attorney Goodrich stated that the City has a right to collect <br /> $.15 in addition to the $.25 that is collected. <br /> <br /> Counci!~e~ber Reimann disagreed with the County hiring a person <br /> to fi~urejout what to do with solid waste; that person will be in <br /> trainln§ ~or a year and the taxpayers will be footing the bill. <br /> <br />Ms. Haas Meplied that the person will not be in training; he has <br />written b~oks on the subject of abatement and has working experience. <br />Ms. Haas Stated that she would be happy to provide Mr. Reimann with <br />a copy .of ithe resume. <br />Discussio~ ensued regarding County burning sites and yard composting <br />sites. M~.
