A $725 Water
Availability Charge (W.A.C.) is collected to defray the depreciation costs of the municipal water
system. A $700 ~ewer Availability Charge (S.A.C.) is collected by the City to be paid to the
Metropolitan WaS~ Control Commission to defray the reserved capacity designed into treatment
and transmission facilities. A $167 fee is collected to cover the cost of the water meter, remote
meter reader and ihstallation. Finally, each property owner must pay the costs associated with
extending the !utilities from the tight-of-way into their dwellings. These costs will include the
abandonment of an!existing on-site sewer system.

PR OJECT. SCHEDULE
Assuming 100% cOnsensus of the property owners remains following the public heating on this
feasibility report, We following schedule can be anticipated providing agreement can be negotiated
with contractor who is installing the sewer and water in adjacent Sunny Ponds and Ramsey
Meadows.

Accept feasibility study and
iSet public hearing date
Hold Publi~. hearing (Special Council Mtg.)
Receiv~ walver of 60 day waiting period
Council to Order improvement by
chagge order to existing contract
Begin construction
Complete construction
Hold aSsess~nent hearing
First payment due with
:real estate taxes

October 24, 1992

November24,1992
November24,1992
November24,1992

Spting 1993
Spting 1993
June 1993
May 1994

Alternatively, if c:onsensus is not unanimous among property owners following the public
hearings, a six!~y (.6~3) day waiting period would be necessary prior to the Council authotizing the
project. It is likelyl that ire contractor currently engaged in the work associated with the adjacent
Sunny PondS/RamJey Meadows projects will need to complete substantial portions of his work in
the Spring of i993[ It is therefore likely this contractor would be agreeable to adding this work
under a change order to that project. In this event, the construction completion would not change
from the schedule lirojected above.
