The transportation path proposal, if Council chooses to pursue it, may see Anoka County
providing the County Road #116 path engineering design with the Cities of Anoka and Ramsey
providing the construction engineering (staking and inspection). Anoka and Ramsey would
provide soft match labor to meet the minimum 20% match. The cities would combine labor and
equipment resources to accomplish any portion of path development not contracted out. In
addition, paving of the Wood Pond Hills path (midway to Ramsey Elementary School) may also
satisfy Ramsey's match obligation.

However, Ramsey's link to the elementary school may be the least likely portion to be funded.
This segment would require acquisition, primarily over miscellaneous easements. It is proposed
that the cost of $10,000 plus acquisition be funded from the Parks Improvement Trust Fund.

The T.A.B. will recommend projects for funding in December 1992 or January 1993 with
construction beginning in the fall of 1993 or in 1994.

A more detailed proposal will be available at the meeting.

Enclosed for your review:

-- Site location map.
-- Met Council's request for proposals

Council Action:

Based upon discussion.

Reviewed by:

Parks/Utilities Coordinator
Park and Recreation Commission

CC: I0/27/92

Copies also distributed to:

City Administrator
City Engineer
Finance Officer
City of Anoka Park Director

I
I
I
I
I

I
I
I
I
I
I
i
I
I
I'
I
I
I
