TRA~DIT1ONAL BIKEWAY/WALKWAY PROJECTS <br /> <br />Qualifxqng Criteria <br /> <br />Bikeway/'C/alkway projects must meet applicable criteria to quali~' for priority evaluation: <br /> <br />1. A bikeway or walk'way project must be consistent with adopted regional plans. <br /> <br />A bikeway or walkway project must be consistent with the locally adopted comprehensive <br />plan. <br /> <br />The facilities must primarily serve a significant transportation purpose rather than only a <br />recreational purpose. <br /> <br />Those projects which provide grade-separated access across significant barriers such as, <br />railroads or busy roadways, must be designed such that at-grade access is discouraged. <br /> <br />5. Ordinary sidewalk construction is not eligible. <br /> <br />6. It must be demonstrated that the facility will be available to and serve the general public. <br /> <br />SkTways must connect public buildings or public par'king facilities with the existing CBD <br />skyway system either by themselves or in conjunction w/th a larger project. Federal funds <br />must not be used to reduce or eliminate normal private party, cost participation in a skLyway <br />project. <br /> <br />8. Projects must be coordinated with all affected communities and other levels and units of <br /> government.
