Carter, I1f <br />Executive Director <br /> <br />Enclosed is an application for partial reimbursement of the monies your political <br />subdivision expended in meeting the POST Board's requirements for continuing <br />education. Please use the enclosed roster to list the peace officers for whom you are <br />claiming reimbursement. The absolute deadline for this application is September 1, 1992. <br />The rules regarding eligibility are the same as in past years. - <br /> <br />.Reimbursement is for the continuing education of.peace officers only, including <br />peace Offioer~ who are working on a part-time basis. You cannot claim <br />employees who hold only a .part-time peace officer license. <br /> <br />Each officer must have worked for your law enforcement agency as a peace <br />officer at least eight months between July 1991 and June 1992, and at least <br />sixteen hours of continuing education must have been made available to the <br />officer during this period. This means peace officers must have been hired and <br />licensed before October 31, 1991, or have left your agency after March 1, 1992. <br /> <br /> I <br /> I <br /> <br /> I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />3. No agency may be reimbursed for more than its actual expenditure for <br /> continuing education. Therefore, please include aJ expenses incurred. <br /> <br />The application form must be signed by you as the Chief Law Enforcement <br />Officer and also by the person designated by council or board resolution. (It is <br />not necessary to send a copy of this resolution with your application. Just keep <br />it on file.) <br /> <br />Last year we mailed reimbursement payments to each local law enforcement agency <br />itself, rather than to the county or municipal treasurer. We will do the same in 1992. <br />Payments will' be made as soon as we are abte to determine the amount per share. This <br />should be some time in late October. As a reminder, POST must receive the completed <br />form no later than September 1, 1992.
