Ali permanent signs permitted by this ordinance shall be constructed in accordance with this section. In hddition to complying with the provisions of this ordinance, all signs shall be co~. strutted in accordance with the applicable provisions of the 1991 Edition of the Un~form Sign Code and State Electrical Code. AK signs shall be located in such a way that they maintain horizontal and vertical cl .e~trance of all electrical power lines and communication lines. All signs and their supporting structures shall maintain clearance and non- int{~rference with all surface and underground facilities and conduits for water, sewage, gas, electricity, or communications equipment or lines. In addition, the pia~ement of all signs and their supporting structures shall not interfere with natural or ~trtificial drainage or surface or underground water. AII~: signs, except those attached flat against the wall of a building shall be cotistructed to withstand minimum wind loads as follows: r. SI(}N Solid Signs: Thirty (30) pounds per square foot per face of the sign. Open Signs: Thirty-six (36) pounds per square foot of the total face area of the letters and other sign surfaces, or ten (10) pounds per square foot of the gross surface area of the sign, whichever is greater.
