The City shall exclusively own, control and supply the water meters to <br />be, used in the municipal water system. The meter may be removed or <br />re, la,ed or changed as to size and type whenever deemed necessary. <br />Tl~e r~eter shall be removed and retested on a periodic basis by the City <br />fo~ th~ purpose of certifying accuracy. There shall be no charge for this <br />periodic testing. <br /> <br />Tl~e (31ty shall keep an accurate record of each meter in use, read all <br />rn~ter~ at the end of each quarter and calculate the amount of water <br />us*ed thy each consumer. <br /> <br />N~ p~'~'son shall be allowed municipal water until the City determines <br />that t~e meter supplied has been placed in such manner that it will <br />re~ist~r all water consumed, and that all other parts of the plumbing <br />arid Pipe fitting in and about the premises has been in full compliance <br />wi~h ~he rules and regulations which the City shall make from time to <br /> <br />Ali water meters hereafter installed shall be in accordance with the <br />ru!es ~et forth in this Ordinance. <br />LiCenSed Master Plumbers shall install or supervise the installation of <br />meterihorns. The meter horns shall be given to the licensed Master <br />Pl[~ml~er or plumber's agent upon securing the plumbing permit. <br /> <br />Thee ~t <br /> C~ y shall install all water meters. No customer shall be provided <br />with Water unless such meter has been installed. Remote readers shall <br />beiins~alled with each meter by the City at a location designated by the <br />City. <br /> <br />o <br /> <br />10. <br /> <br />Tl~e bottom of the meter shall not be less than four (4) inches, or more <br />than twelve (12) inches from the top of the finished basement floor line; <br />an~ tk/Le meter should not be set more than twelve (12) inches measured <br />hofizohtally, from the inside line of the basement wall. <br />Ali me. ter installations shall have a valve on the demand (outlet) side <br />an~ th~ supply (inlet) side of the meter. <br /> <br />Th~ owner is prohibited from obstructing the meter so as to interfere <br />wigh the reading or repairing of the meter. <br /> <br />Th9 C~ty shall insure that every customer is provided with a minimum <br />5!87 water meter. An appropriate charge, reflective of the size of meter, <br />wi~l b~ required for the use of the meter.
