11. Every water meter shall be sealed by the City at the time of installation; <br /> ar/d a'; any time thereafter where the seal has been broken. No person <br /> sh~]l 5reek or remove said seal. Any broken seal or removed water <br /> m~ter'shall be reported to the City within 24 hours of such action. <br /> <br />12. If~an.~ meters are damaged by freezing, hot water, etc., either by <br /> oare]er~sness or neglect of the owner or occupant of the premises or <br /> their a~gents, the customer must pay for the repair of such meters. The <br /> cost of ordinary maintenance and repairs of all meters owned by the <br /> City shall be borne by the City. <br /> <br /> 13. Atithe! written request of any customer, the City will test, or cause to be <br /> te~ted~ the meter supplying the premises of said customer. The owner <br /> or icon~umer may, if he desires, be present at the time any such test is <br /> m~de~; The result of any such test shall be reported to the customer in <br /> every ~ase. <br /> <br />14. If ~he!testing of a meter, as hereinabove provided, indicates that it <br /> regi.st~rs in excess of ten percent error, the charge to the customer for <br /> w~ter !nsed during the quarter and previous quarter within which such <br /> te~.t i~imade shall be equitably adjusted by the City on the basis of the <br /> m~'ter itest results. Any other adjustment of charges for water supplied <br /> th~oug~h meters shall be made on]y by the Council. <br /> <br /> COre. CrOONS <br /> <br /> 1. Th~ minimum size water service shall be one inch (1") copper. <br /> <br />2. Th~ corPoration cock inserted in the distributing pipe must be of the size <br /> sp~mfied on the permit order. Every copper service pipe must be laid <br /> sU~ci~ntly waving to allow of not less than one (1) foot of extra length in <br /> such manner as to prevent rupture by sett]ement. The service pipe <br /> m~st b~e placed sufficiently below the surface in all cases, so protected or <br /> arranged as to prevent rupture from freezing. All services shall be <br /> in,pecked by the City prior to being backfilled. <br /> <br />3. No. person shall make any attachment to any pipe or water fixture in <br />pr~m ses from which water has been shut off, or make any connection <br />w~h any semce p~pe which ~s not ~n use between the watermmns and <br />the melters, without the party desiring such work to be done having first <br /> m~ to a <br /> ~ a~pplication and obtaining written permit from the City for the <br /> pe~forrpance of such work, and no person shall make any replacement <br /> tap o~ connect any tap or connection theretofore made in any <br /> watermain without first removing the old service and plugging the <br /> wa~ermain. When new buildings are erected on the site of old ones, and <br /> it i~ desired to increase or change the old water service, no connections <br /> wi~h the mains shall be given until all the old service shall have been <br /> remove, d and the main plugged. <br /> <br />Page 5 <br /> <br /> <br />
