Subd. <br /> Flashing signs. Flashing signs are not permitted in any district except as <br /> 7. pr6~vided for in 9.12.03, Subd. 7 (General Provisions- Illumination). <br /> ~, Po~'table signs. Portable signs are prohibited except as temporary signs as <br />Subd. 4 ~ provided for in Section 9.12.05 (Temporary Signs). <br /> <br />Subd. 5 PrOjecting signs, No projecting sign shall be permitted in any district. <br />Subd. 6 R°bf signs. Roof signs are prohibited in any zoning district. <br /> <br />Subd. 7 $i! ns on parked vehicles. Signs painted or mounted on or attached to <br /> vel icles, trailers or equipment where the apparent primary purpose of the vehicle or <br /> <br /> ~ eq~ ipment is to display said sign. However, this is not in any way intended to <br /> pr, libit signs placed on or affixed to vehicles and trailers, such as lettering on <br /> mu cor vehicles, where the sign is incidental to the primary use of the vehicle, trailer <br /> and tot any other type of mobile equipment. <br /> <br />Subd. 8 i Sigas on trees. Signs which are attached or otherwise affixed to trees or other <br /> i ve ~etation are prohibited. <br /> <br />Subd. 9 ~Sll~s pmnted on walls. S~gns painted on an exterior wall, facia, parapet or a <br /> ~ eh~ 'L?y. ney of a building or on a fence are prohibited. <br /> <br />Subd. 10 !signs which imitate traffic control devices. Signs which imitate, interfere <br /> ~wit~ obstruct the view of, or can be confused with any authorized traffic control <br /> isig~, signal, or other device are prohibited. <br />9.12.0s TEMPORARY SIGNS <br />The following ~x~t~e only type of temporary signs permitted in any district unless other types are <br />specifically tdl0wed in the individual zoning districts. <br /> <br />Subd. I Balloons, gas filled figures, streamers, whirling devices and <br /> - ~ev.61ving searchlights or any such sign resembling the same, are prohibited <br /> [ro~ use within the city except for public events, or when used as an integral part <br /> Of ~e design of a building, or when used in conjunction with public events or <br /> gran~, openings (the initial commencement of business). In the case of grand <br /> 0pe~ngs or public events, these devices shall be allowed for the week only of said <br /> ~ubl!c event or grand opening. <br />Subd. 2 poli~cal signs posted by a bona fide candidate for political office, or by a person <br /> ~r g~pup promoting a political issue or a political candidate may be placed in any <br /> distrt.~ct upon acquisition of a temporary sign permit at a fee established by city <br /> t~oun~il resolution. Political signs are limited to thirty-two (32) square feet in area <br /> 6ndi~uch signs shall be removed within seven (7) days following the election.
